When Carolyn Wynne began experiencing knee discomfort for several weeks, she decided to take her friend’s advice and visit Ortho Speed Pass Orthopedic Urgent Care Center in Rocky Hill to check things out.
From the moment she arrived, she felt a sense of comfort. “The atmosphere was so happy. Even the chair covers were cheerful,” she recalled. “When I walk into a doctor’s office and it feels good, I know I’m going to be okay, and that’s the feeling I got here.”
Ms. Wynne was seen by OSP’s Physician Assistant, Francesca J. Chirico, PA-C who immediately made her feel at ease. “She walked into the room with a smile worth a million dollars,” Carolyn said. She administered a cortisone shot and arranged for x-rays on-site, which they reviewed together afterward.
What meant the most to Carolyn was the thoughtful way she took notes for her. “She wrote everything down for me so I wouldn’t forget once I got home. That was very, very nice.” Francesca explained the shot could take 3–7 days to work and reassured Carolyn with compassion and clarity, which she said she doesn’t always receive from providers, and was pleasantly surprised.
When Carolyn called back a few days later, still feeling discomfort, she once again felt supported. Francesca spoke with her directly, offering suggestions like Tylenol and warm compresses until her orthopedic appointment later in the week. “She gave me as much help as she could. I could tell she cared,” Carolyn said.
What impressed Ms. Wynne just as much as the medical care was the overall office experience. “The women at the front desk are so professional and upbeat. They really interact well and work together. They told me how happy they are working here, and it shows.”
She explained that she’s been to other urgent cares, but none felt quite like Ortho Speed Pass Orthopedic Walk In Center. Even going back to get her medical records for her upcoming appointment, she felt welcomed, seen, and supported with the utmost kindness and efficiency.
Reflecting on her visit, Carolyn said she left with deep appreciation for both Francesca and the staff.
There’s not enough recognition given to people who do their jobs so well, but this team deserves it. I will gladly recommend this office to anyone in need and know in my heart that other patients feel this way, too.
